Terms of Use

1. Grant of License

Subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms, AlertCat (“we”, “us”) grants you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use SnapShop (the “App”) on a compatible Android or Solana Mobile device. The App’s source code is released under the MIT License (see source repository).

2. Permitted Use

You may use the App to:

  • Run real-time on-device object detection through YOLO26 NCNN.
  • Submit a compressed thumbnail of a detected object to a cloud multimodal AI service (Google Gemini via OpenRouter) for brand and model identification.
  • Browse third-party shopping platforms (Amazon, eBay, AliExpress) through an in-app WebView.
  • Pay for products with USDC on the Solana blockchain via Mobile Wallet Adapter, including the Bitrefill gift-card flow.
  • Optionally record detection events on Solana as Memo Program transactions.

3. Restrictions

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the App to identify, purchase, or facilitate trade in goods that are illegal in your jurisdiction, including counterfeit goods, restricted weapons, controlled substances, or stolen property.
  • Attempt to identify people, faces, license plates, or other personal data using the App.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App for malicious purposes.
  • Use automated tools to abuse or scrape the AI identification service.
  • Circumvent regional restrictions of any third-party shopping platform.
  • Resell or redistribute identification results commercially without separate agreement.

4. Intellectual Property

The App’s source code is licensed under the MIT License. Product names, brand names, trademarks, and logos identified by the AI belong to their respective owners. We do not claim ownership of any third-party trademark. The AI’s identification of a brand or model name is informational only and does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or authorization by that brand.

5. Third-Party Components

The App relies on the following independent services, each with its own terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with them:

  • YOLO26 / NCNN — on-device object detection (open source).
  • Google Gemini via OpenRouter — cloud multimodal AI for brand and model identification.
  • Amazon, eBay, AliExpress — in-app shopping via WebView.
  • Bitrefill — conversion of USDC to gift cards used at the shopping platforms.
  • Solana blockchain — public payment rails and optional memo storage.
  • Mobile Wallet Adapter — wallet connection layer maintained by Solana Mobile.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for the actions, products, content, or availability of these services.

6. Blockchain Transactions

All on-chain actions, including USDC payments and optional memo records, are irreversible. The App is non-custodial and never holds, transfers, or has access to your wallet credentials, seed phrase, or private keys. You are solely responsible for safekeeping your wallet. The App is not a financial service, and provides no investment, tax, or legal advice. Cryptocurrency values are volatile; you acknowledge and accept all related risks.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

AI identification may produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated results, particularly for products released after the model’s training cutoff or for goods that visually resemble multiple brands. Always verify product details on the destination shopping platform before completing any purchase.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF CRYPTOCURRENCY, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR INCORRECT PURCHASES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD 50).

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including suspected violation of these Terms. You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall first be addressed by good-faith negotiation; if unresolved, it shall be referred to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to This License

We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after revisions take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes may be announced in the App’s release notes.
